DROPPING PRODUCTS CAN HELP PROTECT THEM MORE?
An important part of the international trade process for exporters of any size is ensuring that the goods that are shipped reach their destinations intact and in a timely fashion. Appropriate packaging and proper documentation are essential in meeting these goals. One of many delivery services that Orient Handicraft has been using is FedEx. It is the world’s largest package delivery service that offers customers send just about anything to 220 countries around the globe.
One of the procedures that FedEx includes is that they recommend a series of pre-shipment drop tests to simulate FedEx air and ground shipping environments specifically for products weighing up to 150 Lbs. The FedEx drop test is one of the simulations proposed by the express delivery giant to simulate potential damages that may occur during their distribution cycle. The test allows for the optimization of packages as per several international standards.
The test is firstly conducted by having the package lifted to a certain height based on its weight. There are 10 drop tests, one for each orientations of the box (as shown in the pictures). The box will then be dropped accordingly then finally opened to inspect for any faults on the products.
By doing this, we are able to find the best way to have our products packed, shipped and ensure quality deliveries. Our products can be protected and maintain its quality when they arrive and well received by our customers.
